The National Park Service personnel reviewed the book and gave it a “thumbs down”, concluding:

“Publication (Killing Lincoln) not recommended as a sales item in the Eastern National Bookstore located in the Museum at Ford’s Theatre National Historic because of the lack of documentation and the factual errors within the publication.”

Amazon.com had supposedly given it a good rating at first, but so many poor reviews came in that it now only has a score of 2 out of 5 possible stars. There is a lively discussion about the book on a couple of sites. Supporters of KILLING LINCOLN claim that the errors are “only minor” and therefore excusable, and that to single out these errors of fact are merely being “picky”.
