Does anyone has a copy of this book they would like to sell ?     I'm willing to pay around $30.00.

My GG grandfather was captured and confined there for about 6 months in 1863.

You can email me @ tnp@mindspring.com

Thanks Rick

Laurie,

Thanks for all the information.  If you have one at the Surratt House just let me know.  According to their we site, The St. Mary's County Historical Society, is closed until Feb.  I also called but no answer.

From what I have read it was a really bad place.  I don't have any information on my ancestor other that the fact that he was confined there .  I'm trying to gather more information now.  I just recently discovered that he was a confederate soldier.  He served in the NC 57th Infantry based out of Rowan County, NC.  Shot twice and captured twice but he did survive the war.

Good luck with your cold

Take care, Rick

Laurie,

Thanks for checking your book stock.  I will check with the St. Mary's County Historical Society when they open back up in a few weeks.   Hopefully I can get up there this summer to check out the area.

Take Care ,  Rick
