One thing that surprised me was the speech by R. Gerald McMurtry. His is a well-known name in the Lincoln field. There is a brief

Among the things McMurtry is quoted as saying:
"Lewis Payne, after asking several people on the street, found Secretary of State Sew- ard's residence, got into the residence posing as a salesman, and attacked Seward as he lay on his bed."
"Seward had been injured in a carriage accident and had a cast on the upper part of his
body. This, McMurtry contends, saved the life of the ailing Secretary of State."
McMurtry is also quoted as saying, "Booth was supposedly killed by a man named Corbot, who was a coroner."
