NEW BOOK: "Shall We Gather At The River"

Yikes! I went to the Post Office this a.m., and had 14 orders for my Smoot booklet, and 10 of them, mentioned they saw the review in the Spring issue of The Lincoln Herald! Thanks "Lincoln Herald" and thank you Mr. Burkhimer, for the "great review"!
Also, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, in Springfield, Il., sent a pro-forma invoice and ordered one for their library.

Only 35 copies left, I might reprint it in a few years, as I have more interesting tidbit's that came along after the book was done.
This booklet will surely become a collector's item in the future!

     I just finished this this morning. Great job, Randal. I had heard very little about Smoot in this story and never really paid him much attention. A great job with the research and tying this all together. It's a first hand account I'm sorry I've ignored for so long. Ford's statement about Booth's escape route married up with Smoot's points us in a direction other than Dr. Mudd's home. Lots of great points were made, including Mrs. Surratt's conduct from someone who experienced her leanings first hand.  Congratulations!
     I couldn't put a review up on Amazon, because I didn't purchase the book from them.  

     Either your book or Ms. Larson's is next, Betty!

I got it in the mail yesterday and started it this afternoon and just finished it. Very interesting reading. I knew nothing about Smoot. Despite some of his information being sketchy it does provide yet another side story to the seemingly never ending plot and sub plots.
